About
We built Escalate so support reaches people in time.
Frontline workers hold up the economy, and too often go without basic support. When life breaks down, they lose a shift, and employers lose a good worker. We fix that.

Our founders
Escalate’s founders built it after fourteen years of nonprofit work
Sean Segal and Sienna Daniel met as teachers and spent the next fourteen years building programs that helped people into better work. Escalate came out of what they kept running into.

Cofounder and President
Sienna Daniel
Sienna has spent her career close to the workers most programs never reach. She started in the classroom, then moved into nonprofit work that helped people find better jobs and keep them. At Generation, the global nonprofit founded by McKinsey, she helped build the United States organization from a standing start to a team of 180 people.
She leads partnerships at Escalate. She is usually the person in the room the first time an employer hears what their frontline team is carrying.
Cofounder and Chief Executive
Sean Segal
Sean was the founding chief executive of Generation in the United States, where the organization grew to a $30 million budget in four years. The results were real and the funding model was the problem. Because the work ran on philanthropy, employers treated it as charity rather than as something their business needed.
That is why Escalate is built the way it is. Support reaches the worker who needs it, and the employer can see what it returns to them.

Why we exist
The frontline deserves more than a paycheck
Most hourly workers are one flat tire, one sick child, or one missed bill away from losing a shift. They rarely leave because of the job. They leave when life outside work becomes impossible to manage.
Escalate puts every kind of help in one place, one simple chat with a real human. A ride when the car dies. Food when the week runs short. A path to a better role when they are ready to climb.
To the business it’s a cost. To the worker and their family it’s everything. We help both.
What we believe
The principles behind the platform
People over problems
A call-out is something that happens to a person who is struggling, not a choice. We meet them with help, not blame.
Employee support is good business
Fewer call-outs, lower turnover and increasing motivation. Doing right by people and the numbers point the same way.
One place, real help
Forty kinds of support, reachable around the clock from a real human.
